"Fishes" Medal

The depicted scene is the miraculous catch of fish at Tiberias Lake, when Jesus appeared in front of his disciples.
The fish is one of the first symbol of the Christ. Ichthus (ἰχθύς), is an acronym for Jesus Christ, son of God, Savior and means fish in ancient greek. It is symbolic of the resurrection and therefore, baptism.
This symbol was used by early Christians to recognize themselves as Christians during the Roman persecution.
The back of the medal is smooth and we can engrave, by hand, a name, date or initials. You can find all of our choices of engraving here.
